According to some experts, users may benefit from lower prices on Apple's App Store thanks to a recent court ruling.

A federal judge said Friday that Apple can no longer prevent alternatives to its in-app payment system. The ruling lets companies avoid Apple's commission of up to 30% on some app sales. Developers will lower their prices now that their App Store fees have been reduced, predicted Joe Sandin, CEO of app developer Onsharp.
“It will create e-commerce opportunities that weren't there before, as app developers now offer consumers more ways to buy within their apps,” he told Lifewire in an email interview.
Federal Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers said Apple violated California's unfair competition law by forcing Fortnite and its maker, Epic Games, to use Apple's payment systems in the App Store.
