Devotion is an atmospheric, suspenseful psychological thriller and also one of the few games, if not the only game, that has been effectively banned due to political content.

That description makes it sound like it’s about politics, which is what I expected when I bought Devotion. What I got instead was a portrait of a small family’s slow psychological decline, told through a series of interactive nightmares.
It turned out that the problem with Devotion was due to a single misplaced piece of art, but that was enough to keep Devotion off the international market for over two years.
Now, Devotion has returned to the last available digital storefront: self-publishing via developer Red Candle Games’ website. For less than $20, you can download a DRM-free copy of a cool indie horror game that also happens to be one of the most controversial games of the 2010s.
