If you've just purchased your first iPod, the first question you're probably asking yourself is, "How do I connect my iPod to my PC?" As long as you have an Internet connection, you have everything you need and the process is simple.
You may already have iTunes installed on your PC. If not, download it from Apple (it's free) and install it on your desktop or laptop. Your iPod came with a cable that had a USB connector on one end and a dock connector on the other. It probably came with a partial charge, but if not, charge your iPod before connecting it to your computer.
Plug the dock connector end of the cable into the dock connector slot on the bottom of the iPod. Then, plug the USB end of the cable into a USB port on your PC.
When you do this, iTunes should launch automatically (if it is not already running) and the iPod screen should light up. If iTunes does not launch automatically, open it.
