Try some of the suggestions below to extend your camera's battery life between charges.
Replace the old battery. Rechargeable batteries lose their ability to hold a full charge over time. If your battery is a few years old, you may need to replace it.
Check for corrosion. Corrosion often occurs when a battery is left in a camera for several weeks without being used, especially in a humid environment. A battery with corrosion will have green or brown stains on the metal connectors. Remove the buildup, or the battery may not charge properly.
