Niantic and its updates have always been hit or miss, but with RediscoverGO, things aren’t looking so good. Players around the world are looking for a way to revert to their old avatars in Pokemon GO.

With this update, Niantic wanted to make the avatars “more like you” and even added character customization options. However, none of them seem to be working as they planned. Almost all of the responses in their announcement thread were negative. This reaction was similar to when they introduced the nerfs for remote raids. But let’s not focus on that, here’s everything you need to know about the new avatar design and customization features.
Unfortunately, at the time of writing this guide, there is no way to revert back to your original avatar. Especially since the game requires you to be on the latest version, installing an older version of the app won't help either.
