VirtualBox is a great tool for trying out alternative operating systems. It lets you run an entire operating system as an app, called a virtual machine, which is handy for getting access to software for that other system in a pinch. VirtualBox works well on its own, but installing the VirtualBox Extension Pack makes the experience much better.

The first step is to install the Extension Pack that matches the version of VirtualBox you are using. There are a couple of ways to start this process, but the actual installation is the same for all of them.

First, visit the VirtualBox website and download the Extension Pack.

You can also open the File menu and then select Preferences.
