Distribution is an important part of Manor Lords. You need to build a marketplace for villagers so they can survive.
Understanding the Marketplace in Manor Lords | Marketplace Guide
Life as a medieval lord is not easy in Manor Lords, especially when your townspeople demand all sorts of goods. The most important basic necessities that the people need during the early stages of the city builder are food and fuel. Food comes from farming, hunting, and foraging, while fuel comes from firewood. However, distributing these goods to the people becomes difficult as you expand your city and the population increases, which is why a marketplace is a necessity in Manor Lords.
Building a marketplace in Manor Lords can be found under the Residential tab of the Build icon. During the early stages of the city builder, you will only have one to three stalls. However, as your village grows into a town or full-fledged city, it can potentially house up to 20 marketplace stalls. To ensure your marketplace is future-proof, I recommend building it near Burgage plots and industries such as farming, foraging, and lumberjack huts. It is also wise to create a plot that can house at least 15 to 20 stalls, so that a second marketplace is not needed later.
Once the marketplace in Manor Lords is built, early jobs assigned to families through Woodcutters Lodge and Hunting Camp will become permanent jobs, with that family opening a stall in the marketplace. If you reassign the family with a stall, they will abandon it and the stall will become an empty lot in your marketplace. To ensure you're properly balancing families, I'd wait to build a marketplace until the population supports having permanent workers.
