The Ring Doorbell’s internal battery makes it incredibly convenient to use. There’s no need for external wiring or an expensive visit from an electrician. Simply place the Ring Doorbell next to your door and you’ll immediately enjoy all the benefits of a smart video doorbell. However, the downside to the internal battery is that it will inevitably lose its charge, and it’s important to charge it before it runs out completely: if that happens, the Ring Doorbell will reset itself and you’ll have to go through the whole setup process again. That’s a hassle you don’t want.
How to Charge Your Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) Battery | Ring
Ring has a process for monitoring battery levels, and the app will alert you when the battery is getting low. When that happens, follow these steps to quickly charge the battery.
If you have the Ring Doorbell 1st or 2nd Generation, you’ll need to unplug the entire unit from the wall to charge it (we’ll talk more about that in a section below). But first, let’s talk about the newest models. Every other model (Ring Video Doorbell 2, Ring Video Doorbell 3, Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus, Ring Video Doorbell 4, and Ring Battery Video Doorbell Plus) has a quick-release battery pack that’s located under the faceplates.
Start by removing the faceplate. To do this, unscrew the single screw on the bottom of the faceplate with a star-shaped screw head (there is one in the Ring Doorbell box).
