This article explains how to safely clean your flat-screen monitor, TV, laptop screen, or other device in just a few minutes. This information applies to televisions from most manufacturers, such as LG, Samsung, Panasonic, Sony, and Vizio.
The safest way to clean a TV screen
Turn off the device. When the screen is dark, the dirty or greasy spots are easier to see. Turning off the device also prevents you from accidentally pressing buttons that you do not want to press, which often happens when cleaning touchscreen devices such as tablets, iPads, etc.
Use a dry, soft cloth and gently wipe the screen with a microfiber cloth or a dry squeegee. Both are fine choices.
If the dry cloth does not completely remove the dirt or oil, do not press harder to scrub it off. Pressing directly on the screen can often cause pixel burnout, especially on laptop screens, desktop monitors, and LCD/LED TV screens.
