Nova Drift was recently released on Steam and is experiencing a bug. Some players have reported losing their saved game progress. There is no reason why this happened as Steam syncs everything in the cloud. Such issues are rare and unusual, to be on the safe side you can manually backup and restore your Nova Drift save file.
Why is Nintendo doing this?
Nova Drift save files are stored in the AppData folder. The full location is below, navigate to the following folder and restore everything from there. In case of any problem, you can restore the saved game files.
If you can’t see any files here, there is one solution to recover saved files. You need to rename the user folder to your system user name. For example, if your account name is Peter, do the following with the USER folder.
The next step is to look for the accountLevel file, right-click on it and choose Open with Notepad. Edit the numbers in it to any arbitrary number. For example, if you see 0.00000, rename it to 3.00000. If you can’t see the accountLevel file, launch the game, play for a few minutes and die. Go back to the AppData folder and check it again.
