How to remove the PS5 side plates?
Before removing the faceplates of your PS5, it’s important to power your console completely off by going to the Control Center and selecting Power > Turn off PS5. Then, remove any cables and stands (if necessary) and wait a few minutes for the console to cool down.
Once that is done, you can remove the covers.
If you bought a PlayStation 5 at launch, or sometime between then and November 2023, these are your instructions. To confirm, look at the back of your console for the model number, which will be CFI-1000.
