Electric bikes make cycling accessible to almost everyone, for fun and as a means of transportation. They may be the way to finally rid our cities of cars.
E-bikes can change cities forever
Cars are a plague on cities. Roads cut through neighborhoods and pollute our living and working spaces with noise and dirty air. Roads and free parking take up a large percentage of real estate, and for what? A sense of freedom and convenience.
Getting cars out of cities is the way to improve livability, reduce pollution, and free up space for parks and much-needed housing. But we still need to get around, and cycling is one of the best ways to do that.
"The best way to sell electric bikes to people who live in the city is that they save a ton of money. They don't have to pay the insanely high gas prices. You don't have to sit in traffic all the time. Electric bikes are much cheaper than a car, and if you don't plan on leaving the city, you can sell your car for a much cheaper and greener alternative," Bryan Ray of the Biking Apex blog told Lifewire via email.
