If you’ve been playing Dynamax Max Battles since the start of the Max Out season, then Gigantamax Battles will be familiar to you. However, there are some notable changes that you’ll need to keep in mind before you head into these showdowns, and you’ll need to make sure you bring enough people with you. Gigantamax Battles aren’t all that easy, and you’ll need to bring your best Pokémon. Here’s what you need to know about Gigantamax Battles in Pokémon Go.

You can find Gigantamax Battles in the same location where Dynamax Pokémon appear: Power Spots. These rotate around your area as you play Pokémon Go. If there's a Power Spot location in a park, it might move to a church or other prominent location marked by Google Maps within a few days. However, Gigantamax Battles happen more frequently than those for Dynamax Pokémon.

Traditionally, a Dynamax Max Battle remains active at a Power Spot for two or three days. A timer on the Power Spot shows how long it will remain active before it moves to a new location in Pokémon Go. Gigantamax Battles are available for a much shorter period of time and rotate around your area much more quickly. Because these Gigantamax Battles rotate around the community so quickly, you and other players you want to team up with will have to act much faster to defeat them. Fortunately, a timer still shows how long you have until a Gigantamax Pokémon disappears.
