Instagram continues to deliver new updates to the application, and the latest brings a new feature to the search system. While the app previously required the use of keywords with hashtags in front of them, such as #nofilter, the new system allows users to search without keywords. According to experts, this change should make searching on Instagram much easier for users.
“The ability to search for keywords without the system needing hashtags is a carbon copy of what Twitter and YouTube implemented a while ago,” social media expert Bianca Polizzi said in an email. “It’s incredibly useful and is definitely a step in the right direction for the evolution of search engine capabilities.”
Like most social media apps, Instagram regularly updates its application, adding new features like Reels and even anti-bullying systems to protect content creators. The latest update added a few other changes, including the ability to search without hashtags.
