192.168.1.2 is a private IP address. It is often the default IP address for certain models of home broadband routers, usually routers sold outside the United States. This IP address is also assigned to individual devices on a home network when the router has an IP address of 192.168.1.1. While this is the default IP address for some routers, any router (and computer, printer, smart TV, and tablet) on a local network can be set to use 192.168.1.2.

It’s usually not necessary to open the router’s administrative console. However, you may need to do so if you’re having connection issues or setting up your router for the first time, such as to create a Wi-Fi network, change your router’s password, or set up custom DNS servers.
If a router uses the address 192.168.1.2 on the local network, you can log in to the administrator console by entering the IP address into a web browser as a regular URL, for example https://192.168.1.2/.
The router will ask for an administrator username and password. The default username and password for a router are usually available online. Most use admin or 1234 as the password, and some write the password on the bottom of the router. The username is often blank or can be root.
