Arutyunyan is the co-founder and CEO of CounterPunch Studios, a company that creates CG animations for some of the most recognizable gaming franchises. In addition to leading the company’s blockbuster acquisition of Virtuos Group last year, Arutyunyan is single-handedly breaking down stigmas in the industry.
"There's a huge stigma around women in the workplace. They're slower and their family responsibilities can hold them back. But I sold my company, where I worked for 10 years, when I was eight months pregnant and then took a management position at this new company while I was having my baby," Arutyunyan told Lifewire over the phone.
Arutyunyan's background and interests weren't always in gaming: she started out in finance and real estate, but left that career path when she felt uninspired in her early 20s.
