Kobo's new mid-range Clara 2E improves on the Kindle Paperwhite in almost every way, but unless you're in the market for a new e-reader, don't rush to buy one.
Kobo Clara 2E vs 11th Gen Kindle Paperwhite Comparison
While there are cheaper (and fancier) e-readers out there, the best models for most people are Kobo’s Clara and Amazon’s Kindle Paperwhite. Both come with everything you need and very little you don’t. But the Clara 2E has two big advantages over the Kindle. One is that it’s made mostly of recycled plastic. The other is that the software is much better.
"For anyone who's ever looked at e-readers, it's pretty well known that Kobo generally has slightly better hardware than Kindles. The Kobo is a better device, but the Kindle has the advantage of tapping into Amazon's library," mechanical engineer, consumer products designer, and Kobo fan Ludovic Chung-Sao told Lifewire over email when asked about the Kobo vs. Kindle.
In terms of specs, these two are pretty much the same. They both have Bluetooth for connecting headphones and listening to e-books, they have warm front lights for comfortable late-night reading, they are waterproof, and both have a battery life of weeks.
