Hack-and-slash action role-playing games (ARPGs) often cultivate dedicated fanbases, and Last Epoch has been making waves in the genre since its release. While the ARPG scene is seeing some friendly competition, many are wondering how Last Epoch's player base compares to its rivals.
Why are Last Epoch players leaving already?
While some competitors faced challenges due to the imbalance between passionate fans and developer decisions, Eleventh Hour Games, the creators of Last Epoch, showed deep commitment to their project.
At the time of writing, Last Epoch has reached an impressive 258,503 players on Steam. During quieter periods between content releases, the game maintains a steady average of 3,000-5,000 players. Major updates can cause significant spikes, however, with player counts peaking at between 60,000 and 70,000 in any given 24 hour period.
While these numbers may seem modest compared to the more popular multiplayer titles on the market, they do represent a healthy player base, especially for a tight-knit community. This size of community means that players shouldn’t have a problem with long matchmaking times, and it could also be enough for the developers with the right monetization methods, ensuring constant updates and support.
