As with most forms of tipping, it’s hard to find a hard rule. The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) suggests tipping housekeeping staff $1 to $5 per day. However, those same AHLA guidelines also suggest a 15-20% tip for your waiter at a restaurant, while most waiters would argue that 20% is standard and 15% is outdated, especially with today’s inflation.
