I was never fully convinced of the need for dedicated gaming headphones until I started using the Corsair HS80 gaming headset. It's a relatively high-end gaming purchase, but one that has truly changed the way I game for the better.
Corsair HS80 MAX Review – An Aimbot for your EARS
Let’s go back a bit, multiplayer gamers might be horrified to think that they don’t see the point of dedicated gaming headsets. I don’t mean you guys. When you’re trying to sneak up on someone in a multiplayer session of something, being able to hear everything around you is incredibly important. No, I mean for single-player gaming. I’ve always been happy with my TV speakers or, more recently, a high-end soundbar. However, Corsair’s latest headset, the Corsair HS80, has changed all that.
Designed for PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, it is a premium gaming headset that lives up to its reputation. Corsair has always made high-quality headsets and here it excels. It is an expensive addition to your gaming setup, but a real game changer.
The Corsair HS80 is ready to go in seconds. The headset comes with a dongle rather than relying on Bluetooth, but you’re unlikely to run out of spare USB ports on your PC, laptop or PlayStation 4/5. In many ways, using a dongle is easier than trying to set it up via Bluetooth, as I found that both the laptop and PlayStation 5 knew what was going on straight away. For the lazy gamer, it’s a good starting point.
