A reportedly secret thermostat in Apple's HomePod mini could help you control the temperature in your home with your voice.

The mini could include a thermostat and humidity sensor, which Apple hasn’t yet activated. If so, the mini could join a growing number of smart thermostats for the home that help users do everything from regulate temperatures to set humidity levels for certain times of day.
“If your thermostat is in a different room than where you spend most of your time, you can use the smart speaker to set the temperature,” Steven Vona, editor of technology blog Putorius, said in an email interview. “This is called a remote sensor, and more expensive thermostats often come with similar devices.”
Using a smart thermostat not only saves you money, it also reduces your impact on the environment, said Stephany Smith, an installation technician in My Plumber's heating installation division, in an email interview.
