Takeovers in NBA 2K25 allow you to boost your players’ stats during MyPLAYER matches. However, to use Takeover boosts and abilities, you’ll need to unlock them first. Here’s how to activate Takeover in NBA 2K25 and use it in matches.

There are multiple Takeovers that you can unlock in NBA 2K25. In order to use them in MyPLAYER, your player must meet the required stats. The better you are as a player, the more Takeovers you can use. Below is a list of all Takeover requirements in NBA 2K25.

Takeover abilities are special boosts that you unlock after reaching level 5 of a particular Takeover. For example, you get the Poster Machine ability after unlocking Dr. Dunkenstein's level 5. There are 14 Takeover abilities, so you'll see some of them as special moves in multiple Takeovers. Below is a list of all the Takeover abilities in NBA 2K25.

Much like the choice between Elite and Rise affiliations, the best Takeover ultimately comes down to your playstyle. I like to play NBA 2K25 like I play real basketball, driving hard to the hoop and shooting three-pointers. That’s why my favorite Takeover is Skilled Slasher, because it combines three-pointers with drives to the basket.
