To avoid losing the account information, email address, and messages associated with your AOL Mail account, you should log in to your AOL Mail at least once every 90 days. Here's what can happen if you don't.
How to Block Spam Email on Your AOL Account
If you do not log in to your AOL Mail account for 90 days, the account will be deactivated. Incoming email may not be delivered to your mailbox, and incoming email may be bounced back to the sender.
If you log in to your account after day 90 but before day 180, your mailbox will be reactivated and you will receive new emails again. You can continue to use your account, but this does not include messages that were bounced to the sender during the deactivation period.
If you do not log in for 90 days (total 180 days), your account will be deleted. You may not be able to get the email address back. In addition, your emails, photos and other email attachments will be deleted.
