Gmail is a reliable service that won’t just delete your emails or cancel your account. However, you can keep a backup of your Gmail messages in case you need to view them without an internet connection. There are several ways to save your Gmail messages offline.
How to Download and Backup All Gmail Emails
If you use Outlook, Windows Mail, or another email client, your emails are downloaded to your computer every time you receive a new message. However, your Gmail account and the program you are using must both have POP enabled so that the emails are not deleted when you delete them from Gmail.com.
To ensure that your email client downloads your Gmail messages:
Enable POP in your Gmail settings. Select Settings (the gear icon).
