Clubhouse has slowly gained traction in the social scene, with many people around the world praising the app for hosting conversations the way they should be: “through your voice.” Within moments of logging into the app, you can join different rooms as an audience, have discussions about a particular topic, make an announcement, discuss your worldview, and more.
Everything on Clubhouse revolves around ‘Rooms’ and these are essentially the places where conversations take place, all managed by one or more moderators. In this post, we’ll help you understand more about what moderators are in Clubhouse, what powers they have, and how you can become one.
A moderator is the person in a Clubhouse room who holds all the keys to controlling the flow of the conversation and the people involved in a discussion. Every room you enter on Clubhouse has a section called “The Stage” at the top of your screen. This section houses all the speakers who have the opportunity to speak directly in a room, as well as moderators who regulate those speakers, the topic being discussed, and give a person in the audience the opportunity to speak.
Moderators in a room are indicated by a green icon next to their name under their profile picture. This is not only useful for distinguishing them from other speakers, but also for keeping up to date with upcoming events hosted by the same moderator.
