As protests against police brutality and racial injustice continue across the country, apps that blur faces and remove metadata have become a necessary part of every protester’s toolkit. Such apps prevent unwanted surveillance and tracking of those in the images and the photographers who take them.

There’s open-source software that can do this for you on every platform, but iPhone users can now blur faces and remove metadata from images with a single tap in the iOS Shortcuts app. All you have to do is install a new shortcut called “Blur Faces” from developer Noah Conk.
