Google Maps Street View has changed the game for digital exploration: Wherever Google’s cameras have been, you can go and explore for yourself, without ever leaving your home. Of course, if you don’t like having your home appear on Street View, you don’t have to sit back and let other internet explorers spy on your home. Whether you’re famous or just value your privacy, Google lets you blur your home on Street View, though it’s not clear how to do that.
How to Blur Your House on Google Street View | Mashable Explains
A word of caution before you proceed: Requesting Google to blur your home on Street View is permanent. The company won’t undo this censorship once it’s in place, so make sure you’re certain you want your home blurred before you make the request. Also, only ask Google to blur your home: if you do it to someone else’s home, they won’t be able to undo the blurring either.
Step One: Find your home on Google Maps. You can simply type and enter your address into the search bar and then click on the Street View image that appears at the bottom of the left menu. You can also click on the person icon in the bottom right corner of the window to activate Street View and then click on your part of the street to load your home.
Either way, once your home is on Street View, click the three dots next to the address and choose Report a Problem. You can also click the Report a Problem button in the bottom right corner of the Street View window. This will open Google Maps' Report Inappropriate Street View form for your specific address. If for some reason the address or image isn't of your home, start the process again so you don't blur someone else's home.
