To be honest, nobody wants to carry around clutter, because clutter is a real thing in Fallout 4. It would be better to sell it or break it down for good. Not only will this reduce the weight of your inventory, but it will also give you materials to craft new things. The process is very simple but confusing, which is why we have created this guide. Learn how to scrap or break down clutter in Fallout 4 to make the most of it.
How to Break Down Junk in Fallout 4
There are two ways to scrap your junk in Fallout 4 and both are easy. Below you can refer to those steps and apply them in your game to dismantle the junk and get the raw crafting materials from it:
Throw all the junk you want to break down on the ground and make sure it’s within reach. You can use your Pip Boy (watch) to access your inventory and throw them off right away. Next, you need to enter Workshop Mode and aim for the junk you dropped. You will then be given the option to break it down. As you do so, you will learn what crafting materials you will get after breaking down the junk.
This alternate method allows you to scrap all the junk in your inventory at once by pressing one button. All you have to do is go to a nearby settlement and find a workshop bench. When you find one, go there and press the Transfer button to open your inventory. Now you will be given the option to “Save All Junk”. Press it and all the junk will be automatically scraped or broken down in Fallout 4.
