PayPal is an effective tool for sending and receiving payments online for domestic and international friends, family, clients, and customers. But sometimes a transaction needs to be canceled, whether it’s due to an incorrect price entry or simply buyer’s remorse. Here’s how.

To cancel a pending or unclaimed PayPal payment, please follow the steps below:

From your PayPal Dashboard, find the payment you want to reverse on the Summary page and select it. You will be taken to the Transaction Details page.

At the top of the page, you should see the phrase Payment Status. If the word next to it is Completed, you will not be able to cancel the payment because the recipient has already received the money. If the text is Pending or Unclaimed, you should also see a Cancel button. Select it.
