The Access Point Name (APN) represents the network or provider that your mobile phone or tablet uses to access the internet. Most of the time, you don’t need to touch the APN settings, as they are automatically configured for you. However, sometimes you may want to visit the APN settings screen on your device.
HOW TO SET APN SETTINGS ON ANDROID PHONES
People often want to change their APN settings to resolve issues when they can't get a data connection, when they're porting an unlocked phone to another carrier, when they want to avoid data charges on a prepaid plan, or when they want to avoid data roaming charges.
Changing the APN can disrupt the connectivity of your device, so be careful when editing it. Make sure to write down the APN settings before making any changes, just in case. If you enter non-working APN settings, you may lose cellular and data connectivity on your phone. You may also incur additional charges.
