When you type a phrase into the address bar or search box of a web browser, the term is sent to the browser’s default search engine. The search engine can be Google, Bing, Yahoo, or many others, depending on the configuration of the browser you’re using on your Mac. It’s easy to change the default search engine to another search engine.

The default browser in macOS, Apple Safari, uses Google as its default search engine, but you can easily change this to another search engine.

Select the Safari menu in the top left corner of the screen.

Select Preferences from the drop-down menu.
