The Shortcuts app from App contains a bunch of shortcuts and automations designed to improve your productivity and simplify your daily tasks. The app lets you handle actions from other apps installed on your iPhone and create multiple tasks and shortcuts from a single app.
iPhone | iOS How to Change Your App Icons Using Shortcuts
Until now, creating an app-based shortcut in the Shortcuts app would reveal a custom app icon that you or the app designed for the action. This would sometimes be confusing because the app would show a custom icon in the Shortcuts home page, making it harder for users to find which app a shortcut was associated with. With the latest iOS update, Apple now allows users to change a shortcut’s icon to the default app icon, making it easier to find the shortcut they want to use or edit.
Before you can change a shortcut’s current icon back to the original app version, you’ll need to make sure your iPhone is running iOS 16.4 beta 2 (out March 7, 2023, but should be part of the stable version of iOS soon). If you’re on the stable iOS update channel, we recommend waiting a few more weeks for this update to become available.
Please note: Beta versions of iOS may not be stable for your daily tasks. Therefore, install a beta version of iOS at your own risk.
