The Amazon Echo line has had one thing in common until recently: the lack of a visual interface. Every command or request had to be presented in an audio format. The Echo Spot changes the look and feel of the device with a new display and a customizable visual interface. Here’s what it takes to change the watch face and background image on the new Amazon Echo Spot.

In addition to the audio commands that the Echo Spot understands, the new Echo Spot and Echo Show offer a visual interface and camera that let you watch video or video chat with friends and family. When you're not using it, it can display the time, the weather, or any number of built-in widgets.

Like its predecessors, setting up your Echo Spot starts by powering it on. Plug it in and wait for the screen to light up. You’ll get a greeting from Alexa, and from there you can begin setting up your display and choosing your features.
