This article explains how to change your YouTube channel name and channel name using a web browser or the YouTube mobile app.

Please note that your Google account name will always be the same as your linked YouTube account and therefore also your channel name. In other words, your Google account name is your YouTube channel name. If you are okay with this, you can follow steps 1 through 3 to change both your Google account name (and therefore also your YouTube account and channel name).

However, if you want to keep your Google account name while renaming your YouTube channel, you’ll need to move your channel to something called a brand account. Skip to steps 4 through 6 if you want to go this route.

On the web: Go to YouTube.com and sign in to your account. Click or tap your user account icon in the top right of the screen, then click Settings in the dropdown menu.
