You may have heard this term thrown around a lot lately, and that’s because Zoom fatigue is becoming a major issue. In today’s work climate, people are glued to their screens, having back-to-back meetings, and barely getting outside. This is undoubtedly putting a strain on your eyes, mind, and ultimately body.
How Students Combat Zoom Fatigue
Zoom fatigue is the cumulative result of constant eye strain, poor circulation, dehydration, and a number of social attitudes—basically everything that happens from sitting in front of your screen all day.
Not only does your screen put strain on your eyes, but this is compounded by the fact that you are sitting in one place and not moving. Another point to consider is the social aspect of working from home. Because we associate our homes as ‘separate’ from our workplace, the constant use of them in our daily work begins to take its toll. We feel like we have no place to go after work is done.
In the current climate, Zoom is the name of the game; there’s no doubt about it. Video conferencing keeps our jobs moving and industries functioning. Now more than ever, we’re glued to our computer screens, having one meeting after another.
