To use SmartThings with Alexa, you’ll need an Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, or Amazon Tap. Alexa can be used to control SmartThings lights, on/off or dimmer switches, thermostats, and locks, as well as create routines involving lights, switches, and thermostats.
You can use multiple Alexa devices on the same Amazon account to control SmartThings devices throughout your home. However, you can currently only control SmartThings devices in a single location.
