This article explains how to connect PS4 and Xbox One controllers to the Nintendo Switch. The process is the same for both controllers, and both require a controller adapter. The instructions in this article apply to official PS4 and Xbox One controllers and the Magic-NS Wireless Controller Adapter, but other third-party controllers and adapters should also work with the Switch.
To use an official PlayStation DualShock 4 controller with your Nintendo Switch, follow these steps:
Place your Switch in the dock and turn it on.
Connect a Magic-NS adapter (available from Amazon) to one of the USB ports on the Nintendo Switch.
