This article explains several ways to connect a MacBook Air to a TV to browse the web on a big screen, share presentations or images, or create a larger workspace. Instructions apply to any MacBook Air iteration with a Mini DisplayPort, Thunderbolt port, or USB-C Thunderbolt 3 port.
How to Connect Your MacBook Air/Pro to a TV or Monitor WIRELESSLY
For this demonstration, we’ll be connecting a MacBook Air using a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, which we’ll plug into the HDMI port on our TV. Follow the same steps using the appropriate adapters and cables for your setup. (See below for information on finding the right adapters and cables.)
Make sure both your TV and your MacBook Air are turned off.
Connect your HDMI cable to an available HDMI port on your TV.
