Important instructions for older computer users
how do you convert odt to doc
OpenOffice is a free open-source software package that includes Writer, an alternative to Microsoft Word. While Writer works incredibly well, it saves files in OpenDocument Text (.ODT) format. That shouldn't be a problem unless you want to open files in Microsoft Word.
If you have Word 2010 or later, it will automatically open an .ODT file when you double-click it. But what about those of you who use older versions of Word or don't have Word installed?
Don't worry. We'll show you how to convert .ODT to Word document. Try one of the methods below.
