Each new patch for Old School RuneScape brings new items to find and craft, as well as new areas to explore. Below I'll look at how to craft and use Sunfire Runes in OSRS, which are an upgrade from Fire Runes.
Everything you need to know about Solar Fire Runes and how to make them
Sunfire Runes were introduced in the March 2024 update for Old School RuneScape, along with the first area of a new continent, Varlamore. To craft Sunfire Runes, you need to have 33 Runecraft and be at a Shrine of Ralos. At the time of writing, these shrines can only be found in Varlamore. To craft a Sunfire Rune, you will need Pure Essence and Sunfire Splinters (one of each makes one Sunfire Rune).

Sunflower Splinters can be obtained as drops from monsters in the arena-style battles held in the Fortis Colosseum in Varlamore's capital city, Civitas illa Fortis. They are also available as drops from Sunlight Antelope in the Avium Savanna, which can be captured by Hunters using a Pitfall Trap (Hunter Skill 72 required). Sunlight Antelope can only be hunted, not attacked.
