Spotify first introduced the ability to create playlists together in September 2020, but many people still don’t know how to do it. Luckily, the process isn’t difficult. With this tutorial, you and your friends will be creating playlists together in no time.
How to create a collaborative playlist on SPOTIFY!
Whether you’re creating a playlist from scratch or inviting friends to add to a playlist you already have, the process for creating a collaborative playlist on Spotify is actually quite simple, though it doesn’t appear to be available on the website. Instead, you’ll need to open the Spotify desktop or mobile app.
Next, tap Your Library and find the playlist you want to collaborate on, or create a new playlist. (If you want to create a playlist from scratch, you'll need to create it first, then share it with your friends.)
In the Playlists section of your library, tap or click the playlist you want to collaborate on, then look for the button that looks like a person with a plus sign next to it. This will invite others to collaborate on your playlist. How you share the link to this playlist will differ slightly depending on which app you're using. If you're on a mobile device, you can share it directly using your phone's share function. If you're using the desktop app, it will simply copy the link to your clipboard so you can paste it wherever you like. From there, anyone who clicks the link and adds the playlist to their own Spotify library will be able to add songs to it, making it super easy for you all to collaborate.
