Gmail is one of, if not the most, popular email services on the planet, and for good reason: it’s free, it’s packed with features, and nearly everyone uses it. If you don’t have one of these ubiquitous addresses yet, or you want to start from scratch, you can now easily create a new Gmail account.
How to Create a New Gmail Account (Quick Start Guide)
To get started, go to the official Gmail site and click on “Create an account.” If you’re already logged in, click on your profile at the top right and choose “Add another account.” On this login screen, choose “Create account,” and then choose the appropriate option, which will likely be “For my personal use.”
Now enter your first name, and if you want, your last name. Click "Next." Enter your date of birth and gender. (You can choose not to say this, or choose "Custom" to manually enter your gender. Google will then let you choose how you want to be called.) Click "Next."
Now for the fun part: choosing a username. It’s 2023, so unfortunately your choices are limited, especially if you don’t want to use numbers or periods. Once you choose a username that isn’t already in use, you’ll need to create a password. Make sure your password is strong and unique, so that no one or computer can guess it. If your password is really terrible, Google won’t let you use it, so try again until Google accepts your password.
