To add a preset widget to your Home screen, tap and hold an empty spot on your Home screen until the apps and widgets on your Home screen start to jiggle. When that happens, tap the Plus icon in the upper-right (or upper-left) corner and select a widget from the list of preset widgets available for the Apple apps that come standard on your iPhone.
