If you think you sleep better in a hotel room than you do at home, you're not alone: According to one study, about 73% of people surveyed said they sleep better when they stay at a hotel. While part of that may be due to travel exhaustion or a lack of stressors, there's something else going on here: Hotels have been designing their rooms to be as sleep-friendly as possible. Some hotels have even capitalized on this phenomenon by marketing "sleep retreats" and offering amenities like pillow menus. There are a number of reasons why you might want your home to mimic the look and feel of a luxury hotel, but if sleep is your enemy, you can add one more to the list: Designing your bedroom like a hotel room could lead to a better night's sleep.

That much is clear: even mid-range hotels offer luxury mattresses, pillows, and linens, making it a nice, comfortable experience to crawl under the covers. You can’t match that with old, scratchy sheets and a mattress that you’ve moved around six apartments.
If you have an existential sleep experience at a specific hotel, you may be able to purchase their linens directly from them to recreate the experience at home. You can also make a note of the linens and see if you can buy them directly somewhere (my wife and I once simply asked a hotel what kind of sheets they used, and then found them online).
But by just replacing your mattress, sheets, and pillows, you'll create a sleep experience that's more like hotel living.
