There’s nothing more engaging and exciting than encountering a new enemy for the first time in a FromSoftware game. Elden Ring has an endless supply of riches when it comes to adversary variety, and Shadow of the Erdtree casts aside complacency and introduces a whole new horde of grotesque horrors.
One of the standouts is the Furnace Golem, the monstrous, walking, flame-bearing goblins that you see scattered throughout the Shadow Realm. There are more than a few of them waiting for you in Shadow of the Erdtree, and while taking on one may seem pointless, with a little extra knowledge they aren't too scary.
My derriere got burned more than a few times by the Furnace Golem in Shadow of the Erdtree, but I eventually got the hang of its core attacks. The fights are pretty straightforward though—and there are multiple ones to conquer with different attack patterns.
