You need to defeat a scary monster to get a cute Magical Girl to join your team. This guide will show you how to defeat Nerthus and recruit Mellore in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.

After Nowa completes his first task in the game, Ymir tasks him with recruiting more people for the team. The first recruitable person is already in Eltisweiss, your starting city. She is Mellore, a small Magical Girl. After telling her where Redthroat Ridge is, you decide to follow her and help her.

Before leaving Eltisweiss, equip your characters well. Make sure you have plenty of healing herbs, as you will need them in the fight with Nerthus. Leave Eltisweiss and head east down the road, and you will arrive at Redthroat Ridge.

You meet Mellore at the beginning of Redthroat Ridge and the two of you will team up. Just go north and eventually you will find Nerthus. This monster looks like a giant mole and burrows in the sand, appearing randomly on the left or right side of the battlefield.
