Duplicate photos can easily pile up in albums and the Photos app. They could be your selfie snaps, those multiple shots you snapped so you didn’t miss the moment, or screenshots of an important boarding pass or ticket.

These duplicate photos can end up taking up a lot of space on your device, especially if you only have 32GB or 64GB to begin with. Deleting duplicates on iOS was a chore before the release of iOS 16, thankfully the new operating system can now automatically detect and find all duplicates in the Photos app.
