Protect yourself from the PrintNightmare vulnerability

If you see errors such as "Print Spooler Error" or "Printer Connection Failed", you can disable and re-enable the Print Spooler service to see if that resolves the issue. However, Windows users have another reason to disable the Print Spooler service, and that is the "PrintNightmare" vulnerability.

Last month, Microsoft acknowledged that all versions of Windows can be affected by the “PrintNightmare” vulnerability. However, there is an easy way to protect your system from this vulnerability.

Microsoft released an update to fix it on August 10. However, it was discovered shortly after that attackers could still abuse the Print Spooler service to execute code to install apps, manipulate your data, or create accounts with SYSTEM privileges.
