When you download a movie, the digital file is stored locally on your device, so you can watch it as many times as you like. You don’t need a constant internet connection to play it, as long as you don’t delete it from your phone/tablet’s storage or your computer’s hard drive. Here are a few ways to download movies legally.

Many cable TV providers, such as Comcast Xfinity, offer a movie service. If you use the official mobile app for that cable TV provider on your smartphone or tablet, you can download an ever-changing selection of movies and then watch them at your leisure.

Depending on your cable TV provider, the steps you take will vary. For example, if you’re a Comcast Xfinity subscriber, you’ll download the official app and then log in with your credentials. Within the app, you’ll find a Browse section filled with movies you can download directly to your phone and tablet.

​When you’re ready to watch the downloaded movie, tap the app’s menu icon. Under the Saved heading in the Downloads menu, select the movie, and press Watch.
