Mail Privacy Protection (MPP) is a privacy feature available in the Mail app on iOS. The feature prevents advertisers and marketing agencies from knowing your email activity, so they can’t generate analytics based on your profile.

To protect the privacy of your email, Apple downloads all external content available in an email directly to your iPhone via multiple of its own servers. This way, companies and advertisers who send you an email will never know your IP address, when you first opened the message, how many times you opened it (open rate), or whether the email was forwarded.
